Varsity Coaches
Head Varsity Coach: Megan Coddington or "Codd"
Hello everyone! I first came to Concord High School in 2005-06 as a PE teacher. I coached the Freshman Softball team that year. The following year I took a season off to spend some quality time with my first born son Brady. I coached the JV team in the '08 and '09 seasons, had my second son Geno in the summer of '09, and took over the Varsity team in 2010. Concord High Softball has had a long history of successful teams and players. I am proud to have continued that tradition by helping coach our teams to 4 NCS Division II Championships in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2017! Additionally, it has been great to see many of our players playing softball at the collegiate level.
This year, the Diablo Athletic League has adjusted our schedule to include three divisions. These new divisions were created to have a more competitive schedule for all of the teams. We will play a double round robin against every team in our division, as well as a single round robin against teams in the upper division. I'm really looking forward to an amazing season! Let's go CHS!
Assistant Varsity/Pitching Coach: Bre Elder
Bre Elder is in her 3rd coaching year at CHS and we are so excited to have her back! Bre played 4 years of Varsity softball, 3 of them at CHS, and was an integral part of the success of the teams. Coach Bre was a senior, and the starting pitcher and team captain, when Codd took over the program in 2010. She helped lead her team to a League Championship and NCS Championship that year. She was also named our Leagues Most Valuable Pitcher. After high school, Bre attended Cal State Northridge on a softball scholarship. She currently holds records in multiple categories including games started, overall wins, wins in a season, innings pitched, strikeouts and more. Her positive spirit and hard work ethic are a great influence on our young players.
