CONDITIONING/OPEN FIELD
PRIOR TO TRYOUTS
TRYOUTS
- Begins Jan 10 (Tue) - Feb 2 (Thu), 2023
- Mon/Tue/Thur/Fri from 3:30-5:00 pm
- On conditioning days, bring running shoes, sweatshirt, and water. On open field days bring the softball equipment you already have. Please don't spend a bunch of money buying new equipment until your student makes a team.
- Meet at the Varsity Softball field. If it is raining, we will use the overhang by the quad.
- Conditioning and Open Field days are open to everyone. These days are NOT mandatory, but they are beneficial. Potential players will get a chance to meet other girls and start building positive relationships with them. These days will help get girls into physical shape so that they are ready for the first day of tryouts. Open Field is NOT considered a practice. Per North Coast Section rules, coaches are not allowed to give instruction during this time. Coaches are there to supervise and make sure that players are being safe. Open Field is an opportunity to throw the ball around and scrimmage each other.
PRIOR TO TRYOUTS
- All athletes and a parent MUST complete the SportsNet Online Athletic Packet. If you are a returning player who completed one last year, please click "Edit" to update the information you already submitted. If you are a new player, you must create a new account.
- Print this Physical Form and take it to the Physical Exam. All athletes must have a current yearly physical exam, dated within a year from the season of sport, from a medical doctor, nurse practitioner, or a doctor of osteopathy. Physicals from a Chiropractor WILL NOT be accepted!
- Please schedule an appointment early as it could take several weeks to actually see a doctor.
TRYOUTS
- Tryouts occur Monday, February 6 - Friday, February 10, from 3:30-6:00 pm (until dark) on the Varsity Softball field.
- Winter sport athletes will be able to tryout once their season has ended. Please let me know ahead of time if you will be trying out for softball.
- Wear softball pants or other comfortable pants that you can exercise in, a t-shirt, and a sweatshirt. Bring whatever softball equipment you may already have (cleats, glove, bat, helmet, catcher's gear, etc.) and water. Please don't buy any equipment until we know for sure that you have made a team. We have extra gloves, bats, and helmets to use.
- Bring a positive attitude, be willing to learn, and be ready to give 100% effort.
